The Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone is dotted with majestic Buddhist buildings. The 108-meter-high Nanshan Sea-based Guanyin is solemn and spectacular, and both the Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall and Nanshan Temple are filled with Buddhist sacred images of various shapes and exquisite carvings.

The Unique Dharma Gate is the scenic entrance of the area, symbolizing the great wisdom of Buddhism. Entering here marks the beginning of a Buddhist pilgrimage. About a few hundred meters away is the starting station of the scenic area shuttle bus. Both Nanshan Temple and Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall are popular attractions within the scenic area, and the final destination, Nanshan Sea-based Guanyin, is a must-see.

Nanshan Sea-based Guanyin: A Hundred-Meter Guanyin Statue Standing Above the South Sea

The 108-meter-high statue of the Bodhisattva Guanyin stands above the blue waves of the South Sea. This sacred image is not only a landmark of the Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone but also a pilgrimage site for many Buddhist believers. The Guanyin statue is majestic and spectacular, with three integrated figures holding beads, a basket, and a lotus, symbolizing compassion, wisdom, and peace. Besides viewing from afar and up close, visitors can also take the elevator or walk up to the lotus base of the Guanyin statue, touch the Buddha's feet, and pray sincerely for blessings.

Nanshan Temple: A Magnificent Large-Scale Temple in the Style of the Tang Dynasty

Nanshan Temple is a large-scale temple in the style of the prosperous Tang Dynasty, with the largest scale in South China, overall majestic and solemn. The Golden Gate (i.e., the Mahavira Hall), the Tusita Inner Court, and the Renwang Gate inside the temple are must-see places. There is free incense available inside the temple, where you can sincerely bow down.

Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall: Exquisitely Crafted Group Images of Guanyin

Inside the Thirty-Three Guanyin Hall, there are thirty-three kinds of transformation bodies of the Bodhisattva Guanyin enshrined, each with unique shapes and splendidly decorated, which are very worth seeing. Here, you can also freehand copy Buddhist scriptures, feeling the cleansing of Buddhist culture.
