Weaving a Dense "Air Silk Road" – Direct Flights Resume from Sanya to Bangkok!
At 2:13 a.m. on November 21st, flight SL8812 took off from Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport in Thailand and smoothly arrived at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, marking the successful resumption of the "Sanya ⇌ Bangkok" international scheduled route. At the maiden flight ceremony, leaders from relevant departments such as tourism and transportation in Sanya attended and presented flowers to the crew of the flight to express their welcome.

It is reported that the route is operated by Hainan Zhongfu Aviation Service Co., Ltd. and flown by Thai Lion Air, with a Boeing B737-900 aircraft. The inbound flight number is SL8812, which takes off from Bangkok at 00:05 and arrives in Sanya at 02:20; the outbound flight number is SL8813, which takes off from Sanya at 03:20 and arrives in Bangkok at 05:45 (all times are Beijing time, subject to the airline's announcement). Initially, there will be one round-trip flight between Sanya and Bangkok every Tuesday, with plans to increase to two round-trip flights per week by mid-December.
The resumption and subsequent increase in the Sanya-Bangkok international route have injected new vitality into the inbound and outbound travel markets of the two places. As a major destination city in Southeast Asia, Bangkok also adds new destination choices for local outbound travelers from Sanya. A relevant official from the Sanya Tourism Development Bureau stated that this route has broken the traditional pattern of mainly outbound travel in the Thai tourism market. Sanya will continue to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with ASEAN countries and regions such as Thailand, Singapore, and Cambodia. At the same time, in conjunction with travel-related enterprises, Sanya will use its unique natural, cultural, and economic resources to create comprehensive inbound travel products through customized tourism, economic and trade cooperation, family visits, and other rich forms, enhancing the market advantages of Hainan Free Trade Port construction and Sanya's development as an international tourist destination.
